Private company launched in Madrid, specialising in autopilots for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), as well as all associated hardware and software for full Flight Control Systems.
UAV Navigation was founded by three partners with experience each in: UAV flight control software development, micro-electronics, embedded software and hardware manufacturing, and complete UAV platform development. The Company is now 26 strong, with specialist teams in hardware, software and flight control.
From its beginnings as a tech startup in 2004, the Company has grown to become one of the three worldwide leading suppliers of autopilots for small and medium sized UAVs, with customers on all five continents. The Company is particularly strong in Israel – renowned as a particularly difficult market. Customers rely on UAV Navigation autopilots for fixed wing aircraft, helicopters and fast turbine jet aerial targets, as well as a range of interesting special projects.
The Company’s key strength is its capability to design and build complete autopilots, including the Attitude & Heading Reference System (AHRS) units which are at their core. The ability to fuse information from the sensors in these units so that the autopilots are able to overcome individual and even multiple sensor failure is what sets UAV Navigation apart from its competitors.
Bullnet Capital invested in the company in Q4 2009 and continues to support the project.
